Footloose the musical at the Novello
OK this is seriously cheesy but my mole tells me it is such good fun. The musical version of the hit movie Footloose the Musical has all the catchy song and dance and feel-good 80s look of the film version, with a great deal more energy and LIFE. It has a big-city-kid-meets-small-town storyline, and when my mole went, audience members join into every hit song with gusto, enjoying every minute.

Sunday in the Park with George at the Wyndams
Booking until September, this great Sondheim and Lapine Broadway musical is enhanced by some amazing staging and projected animation making this a really special production. George, a poor impressionist painter, captures the scenes in the park, young ladies, couples, and a passing dog. He sketches his lover, Dot, and the painting becomes a work of art in a gallery 100 years later admired by visitors and critics. But what happened to the lives of the characters in the painting

Da Kink in My Hair Hackney Empire
Previewing from November this musical play is set in a Caribbean hair salon in Toronto, where eight black women singers tell their amazing stories and will feature a coruscating feast of drumming, singing and dancing..

Girls Night at the New Wimbledon Theatre
On my list to book for September is the musical Girls Night. It’s a musical comedy, written by Louise Roche (Where the Heart is) following five friends as they review their pasts on a karaoke night out. There’s Carol, the party animal, Anita who is direct, Liza with “problems” and Kate who is boring but is the driver. Lucy Speed from EastEnders and Gwyneth Strong from Only fools and Horses head the cast.

Rocky Horror Show World Record Attempt 22 July
The Rocky Horror Show tells the story of Brad and Janet the sweethearts on a adventure with Frank ‘n’ Furter, Rocky and stunning Magenta. On the 22 July there will be a world record attempt on the number of people simultaneously performing “the Time Warp”

Thriller – the Musical Tribute - at the Dominion
This Michael Jackson tribute is happening for only 2 shows on the 27th August. It will be a stage and video spectacular celebrating the work of Michael Jackson. The show will feature over 100 performers including a children's ballet, gospel choir and a live band.

Blonde Bombshells of 1943 at the Hampstead. Start 10 July 2006
The glamorous Blonde Bombshells swing band has a problem; every time they visit a GI camp their members keep disappearing. As if this were not bad enough, they have a BBC radio engagement coming up

Stomp at the Vaudeville, Strand
First seen at the Edinburgh Festival in 1991 its been around the world and back to London. There is no speech or dialogue but a combination of music, percussion and dance. Stomp is movement and sounds made from everyday objects

Avenue Q at the Albery from 28th june
Avenue Q appears to be a particularly salubrious New York streets, and is about as far away from Park Avenue as you can get, but it is home to some lively, humorous and strange characters performed by both people and puppets says the advance blurb !
