The Railway Children

The Railway Children The Railway Children at the Waterloo Station Theatre, LondonClassic Children's Story Steams Back to WaterlooThe Railway Children returns to Waterloo Station for a second time, after an original record-breaking run at the site of the former Eurostar Terminal. Adapted for stage by Mike Kenny, The Railway Children tells the story of three siblings who move to live in the Yorkshire countryside after their father, who works for the Foreign Office, is taken away from the family in mysterious circumstances. The children, Bobby, Peter and Phyllis, find distraction in watching the trains on the nearby railway line. They also become close friends with Perks, the station porter, and an Old Gentleman who they see regularly on the 9.15 train. The plot takes many dramatic twists and turns before the family is finally reunited in an uplifting finale. The Railway Children features a spectacular 66 tonne steam locomotive, Stirling Silver, and the Old Gentleman's Saloon carriage from the original film.*Due to standard security checks please arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the performance.
